i am thinking hard about my sister... sending her all the strength i can. she has been in icu since jan 6 and its been a rough, up and down, trail. i think about living with the idea of our mortality. we all will die. this moment is what we have.
cheryl has had such a hard life. i won't go into it but through it all we have remained close. we are closest in age... she is 3 years younger than me. i am the oldest of four. she is the one that holds all of my childhood memories from traumas to joy. the others were too young.
there are so many things calling my attention. i have still not finished organizing the last few bits of my sewing studio. i have signed up for jude's new advanced boro class and haven't even checked in yet. and there are all the normal things i do in my life, exercising, housework, the dishes...always the dishes. but i am slacking. things are piling up... i am spending hours on the phone checking her status and talking to my other sisters keeping everyone up to date. and crying a lot in while stacking the dishes. tears are cleansing after all.
this is not the normal post but i wanted to share and ask, if you are inclined, to send healing thoughts our way.

Look at the title of your blog Nance: three clay pots holding heart, soul and creativity. Sometimes you speak and show us your amazing creativity. Other times like now, you speak with your heart and reveal to us, your loving and caring soul. This is a post about your life Nance, all that is created in your daily sacred ordinaries. Daily life is like a revolving door, we may start down one path, then get unexpectedly called away onto another, with time, we swing back to our intended way and sometimes, the detour becomes the way... By including this in your blog, you speak universally to us all. Love, hope and blessings, in whatever form they may come, always, to you, Cheryl and those you love.
Best wishes for the recovery of your sister! And please try not to cry, it drains out the energies from your body, and she needs you. Better sing for her, also in absence she will feel it, and you get back into your rhythm and center again.
i am the baby sister of five (sisters). my thoughts are with you.
sending warm healing thoughts and prayers for your sister and you.
definitely in my thoughts!
my sister means the world to me.
nance..i like Eva's thought...
to Sing for cheryl...even songs
that make no sense, even just
sounds with her name amidst them.
i'm singing... and i thank you so much for all the thoughts... i think she is around the corner now... she may be transfered out of icu today. thanks to for the encouragement to stay positive.
Sorry to hear of this sadness Nan - it is so hard sometimes to see how any good can possibly come from suffering, hopefully there is pathway through for you and your sister and family. Yes, sending healing thoughts. Gilly
Marti always has a wonderful way with words. I'll definately be sending good energy your way. I am very close to my sisters and understand and empathize.
Sending lots of healing and positive energy to you and your sister Nanda...a very difficult time. I like the idea of the singing too. Such a calming, positive thing to do...I will sing for you both.
