well i have slimmed down and added some roots. i think this is more balanced and somewhat recognizable as roots although they are not meant to be realistic. i will be quilting the little off shoots of the roots, some by hand and others by machine. i wish i could do it all by hand but my hands are arthritic and i want to get it done in this lifetime! i appreciate your comments... one of the reasons i want a blog is for feedback on works in process....

i forgot to say that i will be putting some lines into the roots so that they can be seen better against the background.... similar to the close ups previously shown.

it is fecund, dark
mostly with some bits of light. a cycle of life, emotional and spiritual mostly but physical too. there will be a fibonacci curve in the dark coming to the underground part.
I think perhaps you might be a soil scientist lurking in a quilter's body :>]] A very healthy root system you have there!
