so i challenged myself to work quickly without over thinking...something i tend to do if i am not under a time constraint. i've been thinking of my next series since i got back from morocco... you can see the pictures here... http://web.me.com/nddas
there are also pics from japan there...
i'll talk more about my new series later but for now here is what i did today. it is not quilted or embellished yet. its working title is "listen to the call". ignore the little white squares... i couldn't crop them out.

tell me more about these. the intensity of
the design and the color are, well,
intense.
grace the series that i want to do... has been taking place in my head. today it came out into the cloth. i used my stash of hand dye that i did last sfall when i was looking for just the right colors for the prayer flags which i shall have to post here one day...
nance...am going through the process of commenting here to explain to marti
The color dazzles, the shapes inspire, the arch so symbolic of a deep spirituality. The back of the prayer flag evokes a mosque. A strong sense of reverence for the subject combined with an artist's eye for color and form result in a deep cultural sensitivity, the under note to this stunning work.
So glad I found your blog via your kind message today. Thank you.
nance...the fabric is really
great...i will try in the near
future.
the design is really strong and
beautiful.
waiting to see what you decide
about these.
