continuing

i am back from a long absence....i have written here about my mother in law and my sister.... both very important people in my life.... both of whom are no longer with us here on earth. i am working through this transition. i am planting a garden ...i have some roses specially there for these two people i love...and some others too. gardening is therapeutic and so is stitching... i have a cloth for my sister and i will talk about that more when it is complete. i am starting magic diaries now with jude and a whole group of friends new and old. that is really comforting. and one of the pieces i will be working on is the last thing i posted before things got turned upside down! so i will continue with that. and another will be a book. i will be posting the progress of these two along with other projects. to start off i am posting photos of some flowers from the garden. you'll see a couple of garden friends poking in too! glad to be back.

photos...uhoh! i changed the size to small because i was trying to post so many... it wouldn't let me post as many as i wanted...typepad is sounding better and better! as far as the garden...there hasn't been much to show...weather was bad and the ground below was bare anyway...we got rid of the grass ...waiting for the plan from the designer and then the gathering of plants. its been a dream of mine to have a beautiful flower garden... and i could never get it just right so i got a little professional help. and i am glad i did. (it was med's gift).

Oh the flower (second from the bottom) - amazing...just beautiful! I am glad to see you are back. Please take care of yourself in whatever ways work best for you. My mom passed away over two years ago...and it is still in process for me. Loosing loved ones can be so difficult. My thoughts are with you. Look forward to seeing some of you fabric come to life with needle and thread. (((smile)))

Hi Nance! Lovely flowers - in my favorite color too - magenta. Love the greens and the relaxing little Buddha (?). I imagine that tea would be quite wonderful there. Glad to see you back - healing is a process and gardens and stitches seem to make it easier.

ok... grace, i can click on the photos to make them bigger. can you try again?

nancy... it takes a long time when you lose your mom... i'm sorry. the flowers you love are poppies... they came up as volunteers! so i am leaving them until they finishe blooming before i continue following the plan. then i can put them where they will look best. and i will put some needle work up later. thanks for coming by!

janet... left a message over at your place a bit ago... you have been really traveling haven't you? and the statue is a bodhisattva... one who delays nirvana and is here on earth to be compassionate and give help to those who suffer.
you are right about gardening and stitching.

HI! Not sure if we ever exchanged comments in Jude's classes before, and I have a hard time putting together all those "internet" names with lack of faces. But I take it you are Nance, and I see that you have been to my blog, and thanks for stopping by. It is fun to gather the group in anticipation of the new/ongoing journey with Jude. I think it is so funny that so many of the group are from Portland or thereabouts, since I am planning to retire there in a few years, and in fact, will be visiting the end of the summer.

nandas said...

cheryl if you are in portland, please contact me. i would love to meet you and share some of my favorite places with you. and no, i'm not sure that we have exchanged directly. i have been less active since the fall for obvious reasons. thanks for coming over... we will be exchanging comments now, for sure!

Loosing anyone is tough, but you have had an especially rough patch. Sending you hugs and wishes for peace of mind. Your garden is glorious! I love those poppies. They look sheerer than Welsh or Oriental Poppies. And your Buddha, is wonderful. You live in one of my favorite cities. I am just up river from you in Ea. Washington. I am so looking forward to stitching with you in Jude's class. We will have fun! Have a wonderful 4th and know that we are all here for you. Hugs.

jeanie...what a sweet note! yes i have a wonderful evolving garden! we have gotten rid of all the grass in back and the next project will be to get rid of it in front. and stitching and photography as well and i have a loving husband...so lots to be grateful for. the needlework is coming along... pictures to come soon. we will be at the beach in eastern wa. near illwaco in aug. are you near there?

Jeannie said...

Hi, No. I am in the sea of desert in the Tri-Cities.;-)
I grew up north of Seattle and my garden reflects that - ferns, rhodies, woodland flowers. My gardens started like yours, first the back, then front and sides. My husband was all for less lawn to tend to and use less water.
